Registration is now live for the 2013 Bring Food Home Conference

Sustain Ontario and its partners are proud to announce the launch of registration for the 2013 Bring Food Home Conference. Taking place in Windsor, Ontario, on November 17, 18 and 19, the conference will include dozens of workshops and presentations by producers, educators, chefs, poverty advocates, First Nations’ leaders, and more, offering a forum to share experiences and expertise in assisting and directing the development of a better food system for the province.

This year’s theme of “Building Bridges Together” acknowledges our collective need to bring together individuals and organizations from diverse sectors to generate action on food and farming issues, to discuss how we grow, process, promote and consume our food to confront challenges to our food system.

Confirmed sessions at the conference include:

  • Innovations in Land Use Policy and Preservation
  • Bridging Agriculture: A Cross-Cultural Conversation
  • Forest, Foraged and Wild Foods
  • Nutrition Programs in First Nations Communities
  • Distributors: The Key to Institutional Local Food Procurement
  • Small Food Businesses: Challenges and Successes
  • The True Cost of Meat: Challenges and Successes of Independent Meat Processors

More information on the program is available on the Bring Food Home website and through social media. Follow Sustain Ontario on Facebook and Twitter for real-time updates on the conference, including program and session updates.
