The Right Tools for the Job – 2: Technological Solutions to Barriers in the Local Sustainable Food Sector

The underlying challenge of the local, sustainable food system is often missing or outdated infrastructure to support getting food from the producer to the table. Recent rapid advances in communications technology may provide the missing links to sustainable systems based approach.The limits, strengths, and barriers to these technological solutions will be explored by panelists operating in various parts of the food value chain, using both proprietary and open-source solutions. Is the technological revolution proving a beneficial impact or are we watching a race to the bottom?
